Harshal proved to be an insoluble enigma in the precursor edition of the IPL as he bagged the purple cap for 2021 and dished out an impeccable showdown with the cherry in his arms that saw him bagging 32 wickets.

He was snapped by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2022 and will once again be a part of one of the most formidable bowling line-ups of the upcoming edition, starring Josh Hazlewood, Mohammed Siraj, Jason Behrendorff, Siddharth Kaul, Wanindu Hasaranga, Shahbaz Ahmed and David Willey.

Talking on RCB Bold Diaries, Harshal heaped praises on the incisive bowling unit of RCB as he said, “It’s pretty much the same with me and Siraj. Guys like Hazlewood, David Willey, and Behrendorff coming in with our local talents like Akash, I would say that this is one of the better fast bowling attacks of IPL.”

He then focused his attention to spin bowling as he cited, “In terms of spin, Wani has done wonders for Sri Lanka and Shahbaz has performed every time he has been put in a difficult situation and changed the game for us. I think all in all, we have a brilliant bowling attack and at the end of the day how we turn up on a particular day and execute things is what matters.”

He also opened up about Faf du Plessis’ induction to RCB as their latest skipper. Harshal quoted, “He is big on clarity which is again something that I really value because if the captain and the bowler are on the same page, then there is clarity on the field and there is not a lot of mixed messages going on. I think clarity is very important.”

He further added, “He has clearly communicated to me how he likes to operate and I clearly told how I would like to operate. So, there is a very good relationship between both of us. I think that will extend to the entire bowling unit and also to the entire team. I feel if all of us are together on the same page in terms of how we want to play this game, how we want to play this tournament, then we are more likely to succeed.”
