The Indian Premier League Governing Council has announced that the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders has been postponed. This comes after two players from the Knight Riders tested positive for CoVID-19. Match 30 was set to take place on May 3rd at the Sri Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Bowlers Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier have tested positive for the virus while the rest of the KKR team has tested negative. The two players have been placed in isolation, and the medical team has been in constant contact with them.

"Varun Chakaravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were found to be positive in the third round of testing in the last four days. All other team members have tested negative for COVID -19," stated the IPL press release.

"Both the players have isolated themselves from the rest of the squad. The Medical Team is in continuous touch with the duo and are monitoring their health. Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders have now moved towards a daily testing routine to identify any other possible cases and treat them at the earliest," the release further stated.

The medical team is conducting contact tracing to determine who was in close proximity to the two players within the last 48 hours.

"The Medical Team is also determining the close and casual contacts of the two positive cases during the 48 hours prior to collection of the sample that returned the positive test results."

"The BCCI and the Kolkata Knight Riders prioritise the health and safety of everyone involved and all measures are being taken in that endeavour," the press release concluded.

We at Royal Challengers Bangalore wish Varun and Sandeep a speedy recovery.
