India rode high on some imperious display from Virat Kohli leading the Indian battery against Bangladesh in a nail-biting finish. Ever since the T20 World Cup started, Virat Kohli has been in his vintage touch.

He smashed a crucial 82 in the tournament opener and followed it with an unbeaten 62 against Netherlands. Kohli dished out another impeccable knock against Bangladesh, showing terrific command of the conditions Down Under.

Talking about his third half-century of the ongoing edition of the tournament, Virat said, “It was another good day with the bat I guess, was trying to play myself into the innings. When I went in there was pressure, was watching the ball well. To answer your question, I would just say that I'm just in a happy space, I don't want to compare anything. What's in the past is in the past.”

He further talked about breaking Mahela Jayawardene’s record for most runs in T20 World Cups, and then surpassing the Master Blaster in terms of the runs scored Down Under. Virat said, “As soon as I knew the World Cup was in Australia, I was grinning from ear to ear. I knew good cricketing shots would be the key. I knew the kind of experience and game awareness of having played in Australia will come in handy for the team. I absolutely love playing on this ground. Right from the nets at the back, as soon as I enter, it makes me feel at home. That knock at MCG was meant to be, but when I come here, it's like I'm meant to come to Adelaide and enjoy my batting.”

Virat is currently the highest run-scorer of the ongoing T20 World Cup with 220 runs from 4 games at an average of 220 and a strike rate of 144.73. He would continue to be a major driving force for Team India as they take on Zimbabwe in the final game of the group stage on Sunday.
