Gameday Bold Diaries: It will be a great occasion obviously at home in front of our fans – Faf du Plessis on RCB-CSK clash
A do-or-die fixture awaits the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Chinnaswamy as they cross swords with a formidable foe in the Chennai Super Kings. With the odds being reckless, RCB will be hopeful of extending their winning streak to a record sixth game that can put them in the play-offs if a couple of more caveats are being met alongside.
The RCB captain, Faf du Plessis opened up at length in one of the latest videos of RCB Bold Diaries, explaining what exactly is at stake and how the Royal Challengers are bracing themselves for this all-important challenge.
Faf said, “People have been speaking about MS retiring for about six years. So it doesn’t really change. The conversation is about what we do in our team. We’ve been doing that really well in the last couple of weeks. We’re really looking forward to the game. It will be a great occasion obviously at home in front of our home fans. There’ll be a lot of Yellow fans for CSK as well. We’re nice and calm and relaxed and looking forward to the game.”
He further added, “I got a message for the fans. I know that they’ll be here. I am expecting the ground to be the sellout game anyway. We are proud of the game we have turned things around. Obviously we spoke about it throughout the season. On many occasions, you feel the hurt, you feel the disappointment but the way we have turned things around is nothing short of remarkable, to be the only team that has gone five wins in a row in this competition. I am extremely proud of that.”
Faf concluded by saying, “I’m excited about the opportunity that how we are playing our cricket towards the end of the competition, fingers crossed, weather is good and we keep playing the style of play that we want to play.”
